Efeito da inclusão de milho da variedade gema na dieta sobre o desempenho de frangos de carne
Abstract
The present study aimed to verify the viability of diets formulated based on orange maize at the Directorate of Animal Sciences of the Instituto de Investigação Agrária de Mozambique for broiler chickens, using the Gema variety. 1,500 day-old broiler chickens of the Cobb strain were used. The experiment took place in three cycles, where 500 chicks were used in each cycle. The work consisted of two treatments, 125 birds per repetition. The design was completely randomized and the treatments were considered a diet based on Gema variety maize (orange maize) without added vitamins and white maize with added vitamins. The average amount consumed per chicken throughout the growth cycles of the chicken, were not affected when using the feed produced based on white maize with the inclusion of vitamins and when using the feed produced based on maize of the maize variety without the inclusion of vitamins. Also, live weight over the four weeks was statistically the same for the two treatments. With this, it is expected that the use of this maize can reduce the cost of feeds because there is no need to add vitamin A.
